The spirits industry is constantly evolving and expanding, with new and exciting products appearing all the time, and with so many to choose from, it can be hard to find the next big thing. Luckily for you, we’ve done it so you don’t have to.
Tirelessly searching through all the latest releases, we have found a spirit that we think deserves a moment in the spotlight. We are very happy to announce that our Rising Star for 2022 is Sugar House White Rum.
While Scotland isn’t the first place you think of when it comes to making rum, adventurous distillers have started to fill the country with sugar-cane spirits. Sugar House, based in the outskirts of Glasgow, is at the forefront of that effort, always experimenting and pushing the boundaries, all while making excellent rum.
($48.28 per litre)
A fruity, full-flavoured Scottish rum from Sugar House, made with naturally soft water and premium cane molasses, it undergoes a week-long fermentation. The palate offers notes of pineapple, mango, banana and peach, as well as spicy ginger and white pepper. Try using this rum to make tropical cocktails.

Sugar House is a Glasgow-based distillery that draws its name from the original 17th century Scottish rum producers – the Glasgow Sugar Houses. Sat on the outskirts of the city, Sugar House produces high-quality rums using sugar cane molasses and naturally soft Scottish water, distilled in a copper pot still with a rectifying column. Focussed on flavour, it has created a fruity, funky unaged white rum, a smooth and sweet spiced rum and a fiery Scotch Bonnet-infused rum.
